Todd A. Scott

Todd A. Scott was born in Springfield, Missouri and raised in Lowry City, Missouri.

He graduated from Mid-America Nazarene University in 1993 with a bachelor’s degree in history. He later attended the University of Missouri-Columbia where he received a master’s degree in political science. In 2003, he graduated from the University of Missouri’s school of law.

Mr. Scott has served on the staff of Senator Christopher (“Kit”) Bond and Senator John Ashcroft. He has also worked for several years in the Missouri State Senate, most recently as chief-of-staff and legal counsel for State Senator Matt Bartle (Lee’s Summit). He has worked on and helped to manage several political campaigns.

Prior to his work in the Senate, Mr. Scott completed the American Studies Program in Washington, D.C. in 1992 which included both formal political studies and an internship with the International Development Training Institute, a private development agency whose mission was to promote privatization in developing countries. Mr. Scott has also served as a high school/jr. high teacher in Overland Park, Kansas and worked for several years with the youth at his church.

Mr. Scott lives in Columbia, Missouri with his wife, Kelly, and son Landen.
