Michael L. Belancio
Michael Belancio has an array of litigation experience at the trial and appellate levels, representing both plaintiffs and defendants. His experience encompasses personal injury, criminal defense, trucking, construction, surety, insurance, government liability, police misconduct and special education issues on behalf of children with disabilities.
In 1995 Michael graduated from Westchester University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in Social Work. He received his J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law in 1998. He also did a Judicial Clerkship for the Honorable Charles E. Atwell. For both 2006 and 2007, Michael was named “Best of the Bar” in the Kansas City Business Journal.
Michael’s writing credits include: “Indictments, Information and Grand Jury Proceedings” 1 Mo. Criminal Practice and Procedure, Section 4 (Supp. 2001), co-authored with Charles E. Atwell and “State and Local Regulation of Cigarette Advertising” Journal of Legislation, 23 J. Legis. 1 (1997), co-authored with Edward O. Correia et al.
Michael is a member of the Missouri Bar Association, Kansas Bar Association, Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and American Association for Justice.
Michael is also involved in the community. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Missouri Parents Act (MPACT), a non-profit organization that strives to ensure that all children with special needs receive an education which allows them to achieve their personal goals.
Michael joined Graves Bartle Marcus & Garrett, LLC in February 2008. He resides in Kansas City with his wife, Jean.
